UnityPoint - St. Lukes - Sioux City Downtown
Hours: Full Time 36 hours per week 12 hour shifts
Schedule: Days 7am-7pm rotating weekends and holidays
Responsible for providing safe and reliable patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Assists the RN in the nursing process consistent with accepted and prevailing practice which includes monitoring observing and reporting reactions to the patients plan of care. Performs tasks or skills which fall within the scope of practice of a licensed practical nurse.

- Provides direction and supervision of unlicensed assistive personnel (i.e. Patient Care Technician) demonstrates clinical judgment appropriate for Iowas LPN scope of practice uses problem solving techniques and time-management principles and delegates appropriately.
- Assists in creating a positive work environment by working with team members to develop and facilitate initiatives to strive for positiveoutcomes in quality and care of patients. Effectively communicates with all team members physicians ancillary staff and all customers.
- Complies with all policies and procedures and guides team members with compliance.Maintains a safe and clean environm Compiles with all safety goals infection prevention and risk management policies and procedures.
Education:
- Must have completed an accredited nursing program andpossessa valid nursing license.
- All newly licensed RNs with less than six (6) months of acute RN experience at the time of application areto successfully complete the Nurse Residency program
- BSN Preferred.
Experience:
- Completion of accredited nursingprogram.
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Valid nursing license.
- Basic Certified Life Support(AHA)prior tohire.
- Receive NIHSS certification within90 days.
- Specialty certification is encouraged.
