Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to provide perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced surgical environment. The OR RN will primarily circulate surgical cases assist with room turnover and cleaning transport patients as needed and support surgical scheduling activities.

Schedule
  • Variable shifts based on department needs
  • Operating hours are Monday through Friday 6:45 AM 11:15 PM
  • Scheduled for 40 hours per week
  • Possibility of 32 hours during holiday weeks
  • Holiday coverage required
On-Call Requirements
  • Call coverage required 24/7
  • Average call assignment:
    • 1 2 times per week
    • Up to 2 weekends per month
  • Must be able to respond within 30 minutes when on call
Contract Length
  • 13-week assignment
Responsibilities
  • Independently circulate a variety of surgical procedures
  • Assist with operating room turnover and cleaning between cases
  • Transport patients as needed
  • Coordinate and schedule surgical cases
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation within the EMR system
  • Collaborate with surgeons anesthesia providers and surgical staff to ensure quality patient care
  • Adhere to all infection control patient safety and perioperative standards

Candidates must be able to independently circulate the following specialties:

  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Vascular Surgery
  • Ophthalmology
  • Urology
  • ENT
  • Endoscopy
  • Robotic Surgery
  • Obstetrics
  • Gynecology
Requirements
  • Active RN license
  • Minimum of 2 3 years of recent Operating Room circulating experience in a hospital setting
  • Current BLS/BCLS certification
  • Ability to scrub surgical cases preferred
Preferred Skills
  • Strong perioperative nursing skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume surgical setting
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Experience with Meditech PYXIS and EPIC preferred
Unit Information
  • 6 operating room suites plus 1 dedicated C-section suite
  • Multiple rooms operating simultaneously in a busy surgical department
  • Scrubs provided
Additional Information
  • Orientation will begin on day shift for approximately one week or as determined by leadership
  • Travelers requesting approved time off must still complete the minimum required contract shifts
  • Candidates must be available to complete pre-employment health requirements prior to assignment start
