Registered Nurse Operating Room (OR)
Job Type: Contract
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to provide perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced surgical environment. The OR RN will primarily circulate surgical cases assist with room turnover and cleaning transport patients as needed and support surgical scheduling activities.
Schedule- Variable shifts based on department needs
- Operating hours are Monday through Friday 6:45 AM 11:15 PM
- Scheduled for 40 hours per week
- Possibility of 32 hours during holiday weeks
- Holiday coverage required
- Call coverage required 24/7
- Average call assignment:
- 1 2 times per week
- Up to 2 weekends per month
- Must be able to respond within 30 minutes when on call
- 13-week assignment
- Independently circulate a variety of surgical procedures
- Assist with operating room turnover and cleaning between cases
- Transport patients as needed
- Coordinate and schedule surgical cases
- Maintain accurate patient documentation within the EMR system
- Collaborate with surgeons anesthesia providers and surgical staff to ensure quality patient care
- Adhere to all infection control patient safety and perioperative standards
Candidates must be able to independently circulate the following specialties:
- General Surgery
- Orthopedic Surgery
- Vascular Surgery
- Ophthalmology
- Urology
- ENT
- Endoscopy
- Robotic Surgery
- Obstetrics
- Gynecology
- Active RN license
- Minimum of 2 3 years of recent Operating Room circulating experience in a hospital setting
- Current BLS/BCLS certification
- Ability to scrub surgical cases preferred
- Strong perioperative nursing skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume surgical setting
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience with Meditech PYXIS and EPIC preferred
- 6 operating room suites plus 1 dedicated C-section suite
- Multiple rooms operating simultaneously in a busy surgical department
- Scrubs provided
- Orientation will begin on day shift for approximately one week or as determined by leadership
- Travelers requesting approved time off must still complete the minimum required contract shifts
- Candidates must be available to complete pre-employment health requirements prior to assignment start
