Job Summary

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) OB/Labor & Delivery

Location: Valentine NE
Specialty: Labor & Delivery
Shift: Variable Night Shifts 12-Hour Shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week
Duration: 13 Weeks

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift assignment in a Critical Access Hospital in Valentine Nebraska. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled and compassionate nurse dedicated to providing high-quality maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The RN will provide comprehensive antepartum labor delivery postpartum and newborn care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide antepartum labor delivery and postpartum nursing care

  • Monitor fetal heart tracings and maternal conditions throughout labor and delivery

  • Assist physicians and healthcare providers during deliveries and emergency procedures

  • Administer medications IV therapies and treatments as prescribed

  • Assess patient conditions and respond appropriately to complications or emergencies

  • Educate patients and families regarding labor delivery recovery and newborn care

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support positive patient outcomes

  • Ensure compliance with patient safety infection control and hospital protocols

  • Support a compassionate and patient-centered care environment

Requirements

  • Active RN License required

  • Labor & Delivery experience required

  • Current BLS Certification required

  • ACLS and NRP certifications preferred

  • Strong fetal monitoring and emergency response skills preferred

  • Excellent communication critical thinking and patient care skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
