Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) OB/Labor & Delivery
Location: Valentine NE

Duration: 13 Weeks
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift assignment in a Critical Access Hospital in Valentine Nebraska. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled and compassionate nurse dedicated to providing high-quality maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
The RN will provide comprehensive antepartum labor delivery postpartum and newborn care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Responsibilities
Provide antepartum labor delivery and postpartum nursing care
Monitor fetal heart tracings and maternal conditions throughout labor and delivery
Assist physicians and healthcare providers during deliveries and emergency procedures
Administer medications IV therapies and treatments as prescribed
Assess patient conditions and respond appropriately to complications or emergencies
Educate patients and families regarding labor delivery recovery and newborn care
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support positive patient outcomes
Ensure compliance with patient safety infection control and hospital protocols
Support a compassionate and patient-centered care environment
Requirements
Active RN License required
Labor & Delivery experience required
Current BLS Certification required
ACLS and NRP certifications preferred
Strong fetal monitoring and emergency response skills preferred
Excellent communication critical thinking and patient care skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
