Job Summary

Overview

The Ambulatory Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by incorporating assessment planning implementation and evaluation in the practice of nursing. Provides healthcare to individuals families and communities within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice. Ensures adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate.
Provides health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
Acts as preceptor and supports the development of other staff and healthcare students.
Provides leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes.
Assists Nursing Supervisor/coordinator in the development of departmental standing orders.
Be proficient in and perform fetal non-stress tests Assist provider with procedures; amniocentesis IUD insertion/removal cerclage removal Perform wound assessment/care; e.g. staple removal dressing change debridement etc. Administer facility ordered medications; oral intramuscular subcutaneously Perform telephone triage of obstetrical post-partum pre-pregnancy patients. Call patients with laboratory results obtain blood glucose readings prior authorizations refill prescriptions as per provider order Educate patients on prenatal screening tests/results specific to Maternal Fetal Medicine self-injection (IM/SQ) signs and symptoms of pre-eclampsia preterm labor diabetes in pregnancy (insulin self-injection blood glucose monitoring diet etc) Review patient charts from regional OB providers to ensure all appropriate information is obtained prior to MFM visit

Qualifications

Certifications: Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA) Education: College Diploma: Nursing (Required) Work Experience:

Salary Range

The compensation range for this position is $33.11per hour - $53.88per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidates experience qualifications location training licenses shifts worked and compensation model.
