Job Summary
Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate.
Provides health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
Acts as preceptor and supports the development of other staff and healthcare students.
Provides leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes.
Assists Nursing Supervisor/coordinator in the development of departmental standing orders.
Be proficient in and perform fetal non-stress tests Assist provider with procedures; amniocentesis IUD insertion/removal cerclage removal Perform wound assessment/care; e.g. staple removal dressing change debridement etc. Administer facility ordered medications; oral intramuscular subcutaneously Perform telephone triage of obstetrical post-partum pre-pregnancy patients. Call patients with laboratory results obtain blood glucose readings prior authorizations refill prescriptions as per provider order Educate patients on prenatal screening tests/results specific to Maternal Fetal Medicine self-injection (IM/SQ) signs and symptoms of pre-eclampsia preterm labor diabetes in pregnancy (insulin self-injection blood glucose monitoring diet etc) Review patient charts from regional OB providers to ensure all appropriate information is obtained prior to MFM visit
