Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse Medical Surgical / Telemetry
Location: Syracuse NY
Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift & Schedule:
Day Shift 3 12-Hour Shifts 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
36 Hours/Week
Every Other Weekend Some Holidays
Floating as Needed No On-Call
Pay Rate: $58 - $67/hr (Based on Experience)
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse Medical Surgical / Telemetry for an exciting Contract opportunity in Syracuse NY.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical Surgical and Telemetry patients.
Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Monitor telemetry patients and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms.
Administer medications IV therapies and other prescribed treatments safely.
Perform IV insertions and obtain blood specimens as needed.
Monitor patient progress and respond promptly to changes in condition.
Document patient care accurately using the EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies infection control standards and patient safety practices.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ASN or BSN) required.
Active New York State Registered Nurse License required.
Current BLS Certification required.
Must be eligible for BLS recertification if required.
Minimum 1.5 years of recent Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience within the last 2 years required.
Experience in an acute care hospital of similar size or larger required.
Strong Telemetry monitoring IV insertion and blood draw skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal orientation.
Excellent assessment communication and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred.
Experience using EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred.
