Job Summary
RN Medical/Surgical
Location: Arcata California
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Three 12-Hour Shifts per Week
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical/Surgical patients.
- Assess plan implement and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Administer medications IV therapies and prescribed treatments.
- Monitor patient conditions vital signs and clinical progress responding appropriately to changes in status.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care needs.
- Ensure adherence to patient safety and quality care standards.
Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Current ACLS Certification.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN).
- Minimum 3 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience.
- Strong clinical assessment communication and critical-thinking skills.
- Negative TB screening completed within the past 12 months.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CPSI/Evident Electronic Medical Records.
- Previous acute care hospital experience.
- Strong IV therapy and patient management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
