In this role you will manage a cluster of group homes for Developmentally Disabled clients located in Suffolk County.Candidate must have OPWDD experience.The RN Nurse Manager will supervise and train Residence RNs who oversee delivery of individualized medical and psychiatric care for our DD adults.A full benefits package accompanies the position including earnedtime off (vacation personal sick) 18 paid holidays health/dental free life insurance and a retirement savings program.

Responsibilities:

ØProvide day-to-day guidance oversight supervision and evaluation of Residence RNs as assigned to guarantee regulatory compliance and quality medical care.

ØCommunicate with residents families Coordinators Managers DSPs MCCs and Behavior Intervention Specialists regarding care issues offering professional advice and instruction. Address all medical and medication-related issues of individuals living in the assigned cluster of homes.

ØComplete quality review audits of nursing functions within assigned residences.

ØDeliver workshops/training on health-related issues for staff clients and families as well as AMAP Recertification and 32-hour AMAP course.

ØParticipate as an active member of the Treatment team of treatment issues and/or significant changes and records and maintain accurate documentation.

ØAssist the Healthcare Administrator with clinical and administrative responsibilities as needed.

ØDeliver hands-on nursing care and residence supervision in absence of Residence RN.

ØCross-Train with second Nurse Manager to supervise other residence clusters in their absence.

ØProvide on call coverage of assigned residential cluster.

ØProvide on call coverage in the absence of the RN Supervisor or Nurse Manager.

Requirements:

ØA desire to provide and facilitate compassionate person-centered care.

ØAssociates Degree in Nursing; Bachelors Degree preferred.

Ø2-3 years experience providing care for Developmentally Disabled population.

Ø2-3 years supervisory experience.

ØCurrent valid NYS Registered Nurse License.

ØValid NYS Drivers License.

Salary: $90000/ yr

Core Work Schedule:9 am - 5 pm Mon.-Fri. with ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule as resident care needs warrant.
