Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Lubbock TX
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days or Nights Available 3x12s or 4x12s
Employment Type: Travel Contract
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in Lubbock Texas. This opportunity is ideal for experienced L&D nurses as well as first-time travelers looking to expand their clinical experience in a supportive acute care environment.
Requirements:
Active unrestricted Texas Registered Nurse (RN) License or valid Compact License required.
Recent Labor & Delivery experience in an acute care setting required.
Strong maternal and fetal assessment skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Excellent communication critical-thinking and patient care skills.
Experience with electronic medical record documentation preferred.
First-time travelers are welcome and encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality nursing care to laboring patients.
Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
Assist with labor management inductions deliveries and immediate postpartum recovery.
Collaborate with obstetricians pediatric teams and neonatal specialists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation.
Educate patients and families regarding labor delivery recovery and newborn care.
Follow hospital policies safety protocols and regulatory standards.
Participate in weekend rotation schedules as required.
Provide compassionate patient-centered care throughout the childbirth process.
Additional Information:
No floating outside the assigned Labor & Delivery/Womens Services unit.
Weekend rotation required: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule block.
No on-call requirement.
