Following a major expansion Holy Cross Hospital Jordan Valleys capacity tripled now housing 171 beds to serve our growing community. We have invested substantially in advanced technology and state-of-the-art equipment which has attracted our top-notch medical staff and a team of highly skilled nurses. Our entire hospital team is dedicated to providing expert care in a warm family-friendly environment. We are a Level III Trauma center STEMI Cardiac receiving center and certified stroke treatment center. Recently given the Womens Choice Award for Americas 100 Best Hospitals Emergency Care we are the only designated trauma center west of I-15 in the Salt Lake Valley.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our RN Weekend Option you will assume responsibility for facilitating communicating and collaborating with the healthcare team and patients/families to identify and meet their physical emotional and spiritual needs during weekend shifts.

Every day you will promote the optimal health well-being and safety of patients through the nursing process adhering to patient care standards guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act all while demonstrating personal accountability for relationship-based care and organizational values.

To be successful in this role you will be a Registered Nurse with strong clinical assessment and communication skills adaptability for weekend duties and a commitment to patient safety and adherence to nursing standards aligned with our organizational mission and core values.

  • Assess patients physical psychosocial cultural and spiritual needs through observation interview review of medical records & clinical data. Evaluates patients response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
  • Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including but not limited to IVs incision/wound care medication administration catheterization and specimen collections.
  • Promote advocate and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.
  • Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness needs and ability.
  • Recognizes the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for the patients preferences values and needs.
Job Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing or by endorsement.
  • One (1) year experience.
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty.
  • RN License; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.

Preferred

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
