Title: Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Type: local contract

Hours: 36 hours weekly 7pm to 7am shift

Location: Philadelphia PA

Dates: July 6 to August 29 2026

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) Labor & Delivery to join a high-performing maternal care team. The ideal candidate will have recent Labor & Delivery experience and demonstrate strong clinical judgment excellent patient communication and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional care to mothers and newborns.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring delivering and postpartum patients in accordance with established standards of practice
• Assess monitor and document maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery
• Administer medications treatments and interventions as ordered
• Assist physicians and interdisciplinary teams during labor delivery and emergency situations
• Monitor fetal heart tracings and identify changes requiring intervention
• Educate patients and families regarding labor progression delivery expectations recovery and newborn care
• Support patient safety initiatives and maintain accurate medical documentation
• Collaborate with obstetricians anesthesiology neonatal teams and support staff to coordinate patient care
• Respond effectively to obstetric emergencies while maintaining a calm and patient-centered approach

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) License required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Strong assessment communication and critical thinking skills
