Job Summary

Contract Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a contract assignment. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented emergency department and be committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess plan implement and evaluate nursing care for emergency department patients.

  • Provide rapid assessment and intervention for acute illnesses injuries and emergencies.

  • Collaborate with physicians advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Administer medications treatments and emergency procedures in accordance with established protocols.

  • Monitor patient conditions and document care accurately in the electronic medical record.

  • Assist with trauma behavioral health and cardiac monitoring cases.

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.

  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Department Overview
  • 28-bed Emergency Department

  • 4 Trauma Bays

  • 2 Behavioral Health Rooms

  • 22 Cardiac Monitoring Rooms

  • Fast-paced environment with high patient turnover

  • Strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration

Schedule
  • Night shifts

  • Three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours weekly) following orientation

  • Holiday coverage required

  • Hours are not guaranteed

Qualifications Required
  • Active Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) License by assignment start date

  • Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification

  • Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification

Preferred
  • Experience working in high-volume emergency departments

  • Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented environment

Electronic Medical Record
  • EPIC

Additional Requirements
  • Candidate must obtain and maintain all required licensure and certifications before the start of the assignment.

  • Must be available for required onboarding and employee health clearance prior to beginning work.
