We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse CVOR to provide high-quality compassionate perioperative care in a Cardiovascular Operating Room setting at a leading acute care hospital in Detroit MI.
The RN will utilize the nursing process-assessment planning implementation and evaluation-to deliver delegate supervise and document patient care. This role requires strong clinical expertise critical thinking and effective communication with patients families and interdisciplinary surgical teams.
The ideal candidate will actively contribute to patient safety surgical efficiency and quality improvement initiatives within the operating room environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide safe effective nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room
Circulate and/or scrub in cardiovascular surgical procedures as required
Perform patient assessments and develop individualized perioperative care plans
Collaborate with surgeons anesthesiologists and OR team members
Monitor patient condition during surgical procedures and respond to changes appropriately
Document all nursing interventions care and patient outcomes accurately
Delegate and supervise support staff as appropriate
Educate patients and families regarding perioperative processes when applicable
Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Maintain compliance with hospital policies OR protocols and regulatory standards
Required Skills & Experience
Strong clinical knowledge and analytical ability to develop effective nursing care plans
Ability to provide a wide range of professional nursing services in an OR environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-pressure settings
Minimum OR (Operating Room) nursing experience required
Cardiac scrub experience is required
Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced high-acuity surgical environment
Education & Certification
Required:
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (RN program)
Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Schedule & Work Details
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: 06/22/2026
End Date: 09/18/2026
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Options:
5x8s 4x10s or 3x12s (starting at 6:00 AM)
On-Call Requirement:
48 hours per 6-week schedule
1 weekend per month availability required
Shift Timing: 6:00 AM start with variable end times based on schedule type
