How Youll Help Transform Healthcare:
RN Team Lead Opportunity in CVOR at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital a Magnet-designated Level 1 Trauma Center. Position is primarily day/evening with call requirement. Call response time if 30 minutes. Sign on bonus and relocation allowance available for qualified candidates.

The RN Team Lead provides clinical leadership and oversight for patient care delivery while supporting staff development operational efficiency and quality outcomes. This role serves as a clinical resource mentor and team leader to ensure high-quality patient-centered care across assigned areas.

The RN Team Lead

  • Serves as a team leader clinical resource mentor and role model for staff.
  • Provides direct patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages.
  • Assesses plans implements and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Leads and mobilizes the care team to support positive patient outcomes.
  • Facilitates effective communication and resolves operational issues within the work group.
  • Supports staff development through coaching mentoring and performance feedback.
  • Participates in performance evaluations and contributes to development planning.
  • Assists with staffing scheduling and workload distribution to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Collaborates with leadership on fiscal management resource allocation and budget considerations.
  • Participates in performance improvement patient satisfaction and quality initiatives.
  • Conducts team meetings and promotes a positive accountable work environment.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory licensure and accreditation standards.
  • Communicates effectively with patients families staff and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
  • Supports organizational initiatives and adapts to changing priorities.
  • Responds to staffing needs including supporting other Carilion facilities as required.
What We Require:

Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.


Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience including demonstrated clinical and leadership expertise required.


Licensure Certification and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. For Behavioral Health roles de-escalation training must be completed within the required timeframe. For OB/GYN roles EFM NCC certification required.


Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. ACLS PALS or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.


Other Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrated leadership interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to manage challenging patient situations as appropriate to role.

Compensation Range:

$39.00 - $62.40

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications credentials education and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
