Job Summary
Job Title: RN Critical Care (ICU)
Location: Syracuse NY
Shift: Night Shift 3 x 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week)
Schedule: Every other weekend and some holidays required
Duration: 14-week contract (with possible extension)
Local Pay: From $55/hr
We are seeking experienced Critical Care Registered Nurses (RNs) for night shift assignments in an Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This role requires clinicians who are confident working in a high-acuity fast-paced environment with minimal orientation and supervision. Unit assignment will be based on the candidates clinical background and expertise.
- Provide comprehensive high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU
- Perform advanced patient assessments and implement appropriate clinical interventions
- Monitor patient conditions interpret data and respond promptly to changes
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate timely and detailed documentation within the electronic medical record system
- Adhere to all clinical protocols safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Current BLS Certification
- Minimum 1.52 years of recent ICU/Critical Care experience (within the past 2 years)
- Experience in an acute care facility of similar size and patient acuity
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center
- Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Medical Records system
- Prior experience in large or high-complexity hospital settings (especially for travel candidates)
- Fast-paced high-acuity ICU setting
- Requires adaptability critical thinking and strong teamwork
- Night shift schedule with weekend and holiday rotations
