The 5 West Medical Surgical Department at St. Anthony North Hospital an achieved Magnet Hospital is a dynamic 30-bed unit that cares for a diverse population of medical-surgical cardiac and neurological patients. Common diagnoses include chronic disease exacerbations such as diabetes heart failure and COPD acute conditions like infections and gastrointestinal disorders and pre-and post-operative care for orthopedic abdominal and general surgeries. 5 West appeals to anyone interested in broadening their skillset as we receive overflow from anywhere in the hospital provided they meet unit criteria.

As our RN Clinical Coordinator you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit serving as a vital clinical resource and professional role model.

• Assesses patients physical psychosocial cultural and spiritual needs through observation interview review of medical records & clinical data.
  
• Evaluates patients response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
• Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provides leadership support and coordination of units daily operations during designated shift.
• Assists in directing organizing and prioritizing all shift activities ensuring patient care and staff needs are met.
• Ensures appropriateness of admissions/cases to the unit/department and that appropriate staff skill mix exists to provide safe patient care. Liaison to the multidisciplinary patient care team

• Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
• RN License in state of employment
• Basic Life Support American Heart Association
• NIHSS American Heart Association within 6 months of hire or internal transfer
• Physical Requirements: Medium Work exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently and/or up to 10lbs. constantly
