Position Highlights:
- Number of beds on unit: 18
- Patient population (age diagnosis specifics about unit): 18 years and old. Cardiac arrhythmia Chest pain CHF Pacemakers Ablations Heart attacks (MI) and Cardiac interventions.
- Nurse to Patient ratio: 1:4-5
- Department culture and resources: CVCU is a fast paced high patient turnover unit. We admit and d/c multiple patients each day. The department culture is focused on teamwork ensuring that patients needs are met working closely with interdisciplinary partners. Resources: Charge nurse Heart failure nurse cardiac rehab case manager/social work respiratory and pharmacy.
- Frequent nursing skills/equipment used: Nursing skills: Assessment IV managing cardiac drips post procedure care discharge teaching and completing admissions. Equipment: IV pumps SCD machines Bedside monitors cardiac monitoring oxygen ambulation equipment lift equipment.
