The CPEP is divided into two distinct spaces: an evaluation space that holds up to 6 patients and an Extended Obs space that holds up to two patients. The unit is staffed with a nurse PCT and CPEP BH team at all times if patients are present. Patients are triaged and medically cleared prior to entering the CPEP space. At most they may require labs/EKG while in this space. Staff typically do 6hrs blocks in this space on days/mids. Nights may do 12 hours in the space. Security posts in ED.
