Risk Manager, Lending, Amazon Business Payments & Lending

The Opportunity: Were looking for a Risk Manager wholl help manage portfolio metrics and performance in the WW Business-Credit-Account lending portfolio. This is a high-impact role where youll contribute to managing a best-in-class credit program from the ground up working backwards from customer needs analyzing portfolio performance data and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver results. This role sits at the intersection of product management data analytics and portfolio strategy ideal for someone who thinks like a product manager analyzes like a data scientist and wants to develop deep expertise in financial services at Amazon scale.

- Drive Impact: Support credit strategy for international marketplaces across the customer lifecycle directly contributing to how fast we scale our lending business
- Innovate with AI/ML: Partner with Science teams to define model inputs analyze feature performance and help build next-generation automated credit decisioning
- Build Partnerships: Work closely with Product Tech Science and Business teams to drive execution and deliver results
- Think Big: Identify improvement opportunities support experiments and contribute to payment experiences that delight customers
- Own Your Metrics: Monitor and report on portfolio performance surface insights and recommend actions to senior leadership

Key job responsibilities
Analytical Execution & Portfolio Monitoring:
- Monitor portfolio health metrics track performance against targets and escalate emerging issues proactively
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify trends root causes and opportunities for portfolio optimization
- Support strategic initiatives from concept to launch by analyzing data building business cases and tracking outcomes
- Partner with Product teams to evaluate feature performance inform policy decisions and improve customer experiences
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Build working relationships with Product Engineering Science and Account Receivables teams to execute on shared goals
- Coordinate across teams to drive execution on initiatives manage dependencies and communicate progress
- Support loss mitigation and recovery processes in partnership with collections teams through data analysis and process improvement
- Contribute to alignment across stakeholders by preparing materials surfacing insights and recommending solutions
Data-Driven Problem Solving:
- Leverage SQL and analytical tools to identify opportunities for portfolio optimization and customer experience improvements
- Design and execute analyses that test hypotheses and inform product and operational decisions
- Build and maintain reporting mechanisms to monitor portfolio performance and enable rapid response to changing conditions
- Support underwriting operations on complex decisions by providing data-driven analysis and recommendations
AI-Enabled Portfolio Management:
- Actively use the Portfolio Manager AI Agent to conduct analysis generate insights and draft communications
- Contribute to the knowledge base and analytical tools that power AI-enabled workflows
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency through AI augmentation
- Partner with Science and Engineering teams to test agent capabilities and provide feedback for improvement
- Champion AI-enabled tools within daily workflows sharing best practices with the team
Operational Excellence:
- Execute and improve SOPs and operational processes that enable efficient scaling
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiency gains
- Support automation initiatives that improve customer experience while reducing operational burden

- Bachelors degree or above
- Experience managing competing priorities and using metrics to drive business decisions
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel SQL Tableau Python
- 5 years of experience in product management program management business operations or data analytics roles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- High attention to detail with a bias for action and willingness to dive deep to solve problems at root cause

- Masters degree
- Experience in risk management audit legal compliance or a related field including engaging with external stakeholders
- Experience in A/B testing
- Experience with AI/ML technologies
- Experience working with large global teams
- Familiarity with credit concepts portfolio management or financial risk principles

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
