Duty Schedule:

Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM.

Summary/Objective of Position:

  • Insurance Administration
    • Coordinate and manage all College insurance coverage including:
      • Property insurance
      • Building insurance
      • Vehicle and fleet insurance
      • Equipment and contents insurance
      • General liability insurance
    • Maintain insurance schedules and records for all College assets.
    • Work directly with insurance carriers brokers and adjusters.
    • Prepare and submit insurance application renewals and supporting documentation.

  • Insurance Administration
    • Coordinate and manage all College insurance coverage including:
      • Property insurance
      • Building insurance
      • Vehicle and fleet insurance
      • Equipment and contents insurance
      • General liability insurance
    • Maintain insurance schedules and records for all College assets.
    • Work directly with insurance carriers brokers and adjusters.
    • Prepare and submit insurance applications renewals and supporting documentation.
    • Coordinate claim reporting investigations and claim resolution.
    • Monitor insurance coverage to ensure adequate protection of College assets.
  • Asset and Inventory Management
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory system for all College assets.
    • Conduct annual and periodic physical inventories.
    • Track acquisitions transfers disposals and surplus property.
    • Maintain accurate records of:
      • Buildings
      • Vehicles
      • Furniture
      • Technology equipment
      • Educational equipment
      • Specialized assets
    • Reconcile inventory records with financial and fixed asset records.
  • Fleet Management
    • Maintain inventory and records of all College vehicles.
    • Ensure vehicles are properly insured registered and documented.
    • Coordinate accident reporting and insurance claims.
    • Monitor vehicle replacement schedules and asset life cycles.
  • Risk Management
    • Identify and assess risks that may impact College operations.
    • Recommend and implement risk mitigation strategies.
    • Develop procedures for safeguarding College assets.
    • Assist departments in minimizing property losses and liability exposures.
    • Coordinate disaster recovery and emergency preparedness documentation related to assets.
  • Compliance Reporting
    • Prepare insurance risk management and inventory reports.
    • Ensure compliance with federal state tribal/if applicable and institutional requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

Minimum:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Finance Accounting Public Administration Risk Management Asset Management or related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in risk management asset management compliance project management finance operations or a related field.

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM) Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or Certified Professional Asset Manager (CPAM).
  • Experience in Tribal government public sector higher education healthcare or large organizational environments.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of risk management principles asset life cycle management financial and budgetary practices regulatory compliance auditing and internal controls contract and vendor management project management data analysis business operations and asset risk management software systems.

Skills:

  • Risk management asset management regulatory compliance project management financial analysis data analysis leadership strategic planning stakeholder engagement contract management problem-solving communication organizational effectiveness and proficiency with business and asset management software.

Abilities:

  • Ability to apply multiple areas of professional knowledge technical skills analytical reasoning and sound judgment simultaneously to manage organizational risks oversee assets solve complex problems make informed decisions lead projects and communicate effectively with stakeholders while maintaining accuracy confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies and regulations.

Physical Requirements Work Environment & Travel:

  • The Risk Management and Assets Manager must be able to perform the essential functions of the position including prolonged sitting and computer use; effective verbal and written communication; occasional standing walking bending and lifting up to 25 pounds; and working in both office and field environments.
  • The position requires regular travel to organizational facilities project sites and stakeholder meetings with occasional overnight travel.

Other Requirement(s):

  • Ability to speak Navajo
  • Familiarity with Navajo traditional cultural aspects and ability to interpret and understand certain Navajo phrases as the College mission and philosophy are embedded with such phrases.
