Flood and Peterson is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Risk Advisor to join our Human Services Practice. This role is ideal for a business development professional who is passionate about supporting nonprofit and human services organizations and enjoys building meaningful relationships with organizations serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and health care.
As a Risk Advisor you will develop and grow your own book of business while helping human services organizations identify manage and transfer risk through customized insurance solutions. You will work alongside experienced service teams industry specialists and strategic partners to deliver exceptional client outcomes and long-term value.

About the Role
As a Human Services Risk Advisor you will be responsible for prospecting building a pipeline managing client relationships and developing new business opportunities within the human services and nonprofit community.
What Youll Do
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the human services and nonprofit sector through referrals networking community involvement industry associations and lead generation activities.
- Client Relationship Management: Build lasting relationships with nonprofit leaders human services organizations health care providers community-based providers and related organizations while serving as a trusted advisor.
- Sales Achievement: Meet or exceed annual new business and sales velocity targets while contributing to the continued growth of Flood and Petersons Human Services Practice.
- Risk Needs Analysis: Assess operational property liability workforce transportation and business risks and recommend tailored insurance solutions.
- Internal Collaboration: Partner with service teams leadership and carrier partners to ensure clients receive exceptional service and support.
- Industry Engagement: Actively participate in human services organizations nonprofit associations community initiatives and industry events to expand your network and strengthen sector relationships.
- Marketing & Presentations: Collaborate with marketing teams to develop proposals presentations educational content and campaigns that resonate with human services and nonprofit organizations.
What You Bring
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in human services nonprofit organizations community-based programs intellectual and developmental disability services behavioral health healthcare social services or commercial insurance serving human services clients is preferred.
- Education and Work Experience: Associate degree (AA) or four to six years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certificates Licenses & Registrations:
- Current or obtain Colorado Property & Casualty Insurance License within 2 months of hire date.
- Requires current Colorado drivers license and acceptable MVR.
- Certificates Licenses & Registrations:
- Sales Experience: Demonstrated success building relationships generating opportunities closing business and achieving performance goals.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with business owners executives and stakeholders.
- Goal-Oriented: Driven to meet and exceed performance targets through proactive client engagement and business development.

- Compensation: Starting salary for this exempt position is $65000$75000 annually plus commissions on new business. Starting pay may exceed this range for well-qualified candidates particularly those with manufacturing industry expertise and established business relationships.
