Job Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This positionis responsible forthe following: Other duties may be assigned.
Select gear such as cables pulleys and winches according to load weights and sizesandfacilities.
Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving using hand and power tools.
Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams ceilings and gin pole booms using bolts and clamps.
Install ground rigging for yarding lines attaching chokers to logs and to the lines.
Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensuresafetyof workers and materials.
Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces by manipulate rigging lines hoists and pulling gear to move or support materialsusingchain falls gin poles gallows frames and other equipment.
Fabricate set up and repair rigging supporting structures hoists and pulling gear.
Clean and dress machine surfaces andcomponentparts.
Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.
Performvisual inspections andtest riggingbefore useto ensure safety and reliability.
Required Education & Experience:
Industrial and/or marine rigging experience:
1stClass: 3-5 years**
2ndClass:1-3 years
NCCCO or NCCER Preferred
Trained/RiggerCertifiedPreferred**
