Revenue Accountant (CPA Required)
Position Title: Revenue Accountant
Employment Type: Full-Time
Cherry Bekaert is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Revenue Accountant to join a growing finance team. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate revenue recognition customer billing account reconciliations and compliance with U.S. GAAP. The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA with strong experience in revenue accounting ASC 606 month-end close and financial reporting. Experience supporting audits and working in a fast-paced environment is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Revenue Recognition & Accounting
- Manage the monthly revenue recognition process in accordance with ASC 606.
- Review contracts statements of work and amendments to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
- Analyze performance obligations contract modifications and variable consideration.
- Maintain schedules for deferred revenue unbilled receivables and contract assets.
- Prepare revenue-related journal entries and account reconciliations.
Financial Close & Reporting
- Support monthly quarterly and annual close activities.
- Prepare account reconciliations and revenue-related analyses.
- Ensure financial results are accurately recorded and reported in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Assist with financial statement preparation and management reporting.
Billing & Operational Support
- Partner with Sales Operations and Customer Success teams to ensure accurate customer invoicing.
- Review billing schedules and contract terms to ensure alignment with revenue recognition policies.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.
Audit & Compliance
- Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Assist with technical accounting research and documentation.
- Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Active CPA license required.
- 37 years of progressive accounting experience including revenue accounting.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition and U.S. GAAP.
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite Oracle Microsoft Dynamics SAP or similar.
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables lookups and financial analysis.
- Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or regional firm) preferred.
- Experience in SaaS technology government contracting professional services healthcare or recurring revenue environments.
- Experience with deferred revenue contract assets and subscription-based revenue models.
- Strong understanding of financial controls and audit requirements.
