Position Summary
The Retirement Solutions Specialist (RSS) works in partnership with the Retirement Operations Manager Billing and Reporting Lead Director and Team to conduct the essential client service and operational functions related to the Retirement Solutions platform. This position coordinates several duties relating to data/platform management inner company collaboration billing reporting client service administration of investment direction and retirement advisor assistance (both internal and external). This position plays a key role in ensuring that plans and related accounts are onboarded/maintained properly; that outstanding communication happens between all external/internal parties and that timely assistance is provided to meet any advisor/plan request or team project. The RSS is a key part of the retirement team. This role would advance from the retirement solutions associate role by displaying a greater and more detailed knowledge of the retirement plan industry and support of retirement solutions advisors (RSA) or retirement plan advisors (RPA). This person would help design and lead team projects while seeing them through to completion help prepare proposals learn employee education provide training when needed to retirement solutions associates and would maintain a more efficient and independent level of work than would be expected of a retirement solutions associate. The person in this position will have evidence of a successful increase in industry knowledge and fulfillment of duties. Promotion to or fulfillment of this position should only be considered when an individual displays an above-average level of understanding responsibility efficiency professionalism and consistent display of integrating the companys core values into their actions.
Focus provides team members the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule. Our hybrid model is defined as 3 days in office work required per week while giving team members the option to work remotely 2 day per week or as assigned by their team leader.
Primary Responsibilities
- Meets and exceeds the service standards
- Demonstrates and models the firms core values through their work actions and words
- Manages emails and client requests to ensure all are met in a timely manner by the team (e.g. teams inbox and interfacing externally/internally on behalf of the team)
- Provides quick and accurate answers to operational questions from advisors and service teams
- Successfully completes associate goals at a high level and on time
- Plays an active role in execution of team plans
- Provides comprehensive operational support of qualified retirement plans to company and all advisors within Focus Partners Wealth Partners
- Monitors new converting and terminating accounts
- Handles communication between recordkeepers and advisor clients including researching problems and troubleshooting to find solutions
- Analyze processes and procedures to identify improvements or efficiencies that can be created (i.e. Procedure development and execution)
- Continues development of industry/business knowledge through job shadowing educational opportunities professional developments etc.
- Provides on-demand and scheduled reports to advisors and entities as requested
- Participates in and contributes to weekly FPRS Operations meeting and other meetings as assigned
- Review quarterly data and materials for accuracy
- Tracks and completes special projects throughout the year including compliance notices account and system maintenance/cleanup etc.
- Supports and assists the Operations Manager Billing and Reporting Lead Retirement Solutions Advisors and Director
- Maintains Retirement Solutions Website and team resources within company
- Maintains plan-related documents data and communication between various systems and software programs
- Participates in meetings with vendors clients and Focus Partners Teams as needed to ensure efficient and effective service
- Provides consistent and successful support of FPRS advisors in their support of plans and advisor clients
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience on the Focus Partners Retirement Team or 4 years of work experience in the retirement plan industry.
- Bachelors Degree with 2 years of work experience or 4 years of work experience in administration financial or retirement plan industry.
- Client Service Experience - successful interaction with and maintenance of client relationships
- Administrative Experience - 2 to 3 years of significant administrative work history
- Successful team collaborator
- Working knowledge of Windows Operating systems and Microsoft Office
- Experience with CRM systems preferably Salesforce
This position is a non-exempt position. The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $50000-$55000 base salary compensation range. Actual base pay may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience subject matter expertise geographic location where work will be performed and the applicants skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package including but not limited to medical dental vision life insurance and 401(k).
