We have an immediate opening for a full-time Surgical Scheduler working in our retina department.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinate and schedule retina surgeries and postoperative care for all retina providers
• Collaborate with physicians and retina staff to secure surgical dates and ensure all preoperative requirements are completed.
• Communicate surgery instructions and expectations to patients and caregivers face to face or phone
• Initiate referral requests
• Responsible for obtaining insurance authorizations for diagnostic testing
• Assists Retina Resource with tasks /fills in for PTO/call ins
• Maintain accuracy of electronic medical records and all chart documentation
• Manage surgical paperwork
• Serve as a liaison between our Clinic and Surgery Center

Successful candidates will possess the following:

• Have effective time management skills
• Learn and adapt quickly
• Maintain excellent communication and patient service skills
• Ability to work effectively with hospitals to schedule surgical patients.
