This position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. The Retail Manager oversees and manages all Sky Ranch retail outlets located at the Van Texas facility. The major areas of responsibility include but are not limited to scheduling and overseeing staff guest experience in the store training restocking managing equipment managing the online store receiving and preparing products for sale and maintaining inventory. This position supports the ministries of Sky Ranch and helps exceed guest expectations through exciting merchandise and retail options before during and after their Sky Ranch experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees sales in Café Sky and store.
Hire and provide direction and supervision of staff along with support of co-manager and/or director; develop and communicate goals and objectives; monitor and provide constructive feedback and direction to direct reports.
Conduct regular meetings with staff to ensure guests are adequately served while visiting; continually train staff: offering excellent customer service; product knowledge; cleanliness; and point-of-sale system operational skills.
Receive and prepare products for sale.
Learn and implement industry best practices for customer services techniques and expectations.
Order edible COGs supplies and products (Candy Drinks Snacks Ice Cream). This includes determining best items based on research.
Organize maintain and build product SKUs along with co-manager.
Develop and implement retail processes and procedures utilizing retail best practices.
Oversee completion of daily opening and closing procedures checklist. Ensure merchandise is organized and displayed in a professional and appealing manner. Arrange merchandise displays rotating and rearranging as necessary to create an inviting environment for guests.
Organize clean and oversee all storage for all Van retail.
Maintain and manage equipment in Café Sky and registers.
Maintain awareness of retails daily gross sales and profitability operate stores to remain within sales and expense budgets. Maintain retail price structure versus cost in all retail outlets.
Order/obtain necessary product. Inspect inventory levels. Prepare and approve Purchase Order requisitions for inventory and supply purchases related to retail.
Effectively arrange retail items to create a fun and enticing area that is conducive to shopping.
Continually review and assess optimal additional outlets on Van property for retail sales.
Communicate with the Director of Retail through required monthly updates financial reports and monthly semester and yearly statistical data.
Mange and fulfill online store and orders. Maintain online store presence including photos and adjusting offerings as necessary.
Co-manage inventory two to three times a year.
Consult with co-manager for staff needs and help assist with scheduling.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain compliance with Sky Ranchs employee policies and procedures.
Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements including but not limited to Texas Department of Health ACA and OSHCOM regulations and guidelines.
Must be current on certifications trainings and compliance with local health departments before serving in café.
Perform other duties as required.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Handling cash in retail outlets at Van. Managing inventory and budget.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
Undergraduate degree in business preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Three years of retail or purchasing management.
KNOWLEDGE
In-depth understanding of the field of retail marketing and/or purchasing.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. This includes customer needs assessment meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Proficient working knowledge and ability to use various office software including but not limited to Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook. Experience with Circuitrees Sales Link software preferred.

IMPACT ON EQUIPMENT AND PROPERTY
Retail store equipment café equipment and inventory.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to carry a minimum of 25 pounds and push up to 50 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
Ability to grasp push pull carry or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination including reaching bending and stooping frequently.
Requires physical agility including but not limited to bending for items below or reaching for items above the individual; crawling under desks; stooping and climbing step stools or ladders.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends; must be able to work overtime as needed. Working weekends is required during summer camp season.
Works indoors in normal office environment majority of the time. However must be able to stand long-term and walk long distances as necessary to cover retail shifts.
Some exposure to physical risk typical for working with boxed inventory. Hazards may include but are not limited to slipping and tripping.
Ability to travel to various geographic locations including travel by car and some overnight stays including weekends.
OTHER
