Job Title: Retail Associate
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Hours/Schedule: Thursday (10:30-5:00) Friday (10:30-6:00) and Sunday (11:00-4:00)
Department/Location: Thrift Store/Bridgehampton
PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for helping the manager of the thrift store conduct the daily operation of the Retreat Boutique Thrift Store on a part time basis including communicating and interacting with volunteers and customers helping out with sorting donations facilitating a safe and healthy working and shopping environment providing excellent customer service and generating positive net income for the agency.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently run the store on given days as needed or in concert with the Store Manager
- Maintain a positive working/shopping environment.
- Ensure store maintenance.
- Help oversee all aspects of receiving/sorting/cleaning/evaluating donations (clothing accessories shoes)
- Manage paperwork and depositing register receipts on days worked.
- Communicate with the Thrift Store manager on daily activities at the store.
- Develop a positive presence in the community to promote the agency.
- Other duties as assigned.*
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to the Thrift Store Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able available to work weekends and holidays
- English and Spanish speaking preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects (40 lbs)
- Background in fashion retail preferred
- Ability to multi-task and work with a variety of people in a busy environment
- Strong positive interpersonal skills
- Valid drivers license
- Knowledge of thrift store operations a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Sits stands stoops squats walks and moves intermittently during work hours
- May lift push or pull up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Working at least 19.5 hours per week
- Hourly Rate: $22.00 per hour
