Restoration Technician

JOB SUMMARY

Designated a National Historic Landmark The Grove is 150 acres of ecologically diverse land preserved and maintained by Glenview Park District.We are excited to offer a Part-Time Seasonal position designed to provide hands-on experience in a unique and historic setting. The Restoration Technician at The Grove position is responsible for performing a wide variety of restoration tasks including but not limited to:

• Assisting with removal of invasive species
• Assisting with planting of trees and native plugs
• Performing seasonal work assignments (e.g. seed collection watering etc.)
• Completing landscaping activities as applicable to the restoration team (planting raking mulching etc.)
• Maintaining trail safety and cleanliness as needed
• Performing general maintenance and assisting with special events as needed
• Engaging with community to encourage participation in restoration activities

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must be at least 16 years of age. Please note that this position requires working predominantly outdoors in all weather conditions regularly using tools and lifting 40 pounds and as such candidates should have sufficient strength and mobility to complete duties.

PAY & SCHEDULING

This is a part-time summer position working approximately 24 hours/week. Applicants must be able to work a varied schedule including some nights and weekends as required. The anticipated compensation is$18/hour dependent on qualifications.
