Respiratory Therapy Extern (Per DiemRotating) Abington

Job Details

Under the supervision of the Technical Director ensures that all respiratory equipment is processed and in operational order; maintains an inventory of supplies parts and medications related to respiratory care services; and distributes portable oxygen cylinders to specified patient care areas.
This position includes but is not limited to the following essential functions.

Job Description

• Interacts with co-workers visitors and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Disassembles washes disinfects sterilizes and reassembles respiratory equipment as per department infection control policy and procedure
• Maintains proper inventory levels of consumable supplies parts medical gases and medications. Collaborates with Respiratory Care

• Supervisor in initiating storeroom pharmacy and outside vendor

• Maintains an adequate level and appropriate function of equipment (ventilators compressors croup tents flowmeters gas regulators etc.) to meet patient demand

• Interacts with co-workers visitors and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent required.. An associates degree or equivalent is desirable. Good self-direction and motivational qualities are necessary.

AND

Experience:

Required: Student currently enrolled in an accredited respiratory program

One year experience in materials handling equipment servicing and/or direct patient contact highly desirable.
