Location: Syracuse NY
Duration: 14 Weeks Contract
Shift: Night Shift 3x12 Hour Shifts
Hours: 07:00 PM 07:00 AM 36 Hours/Week
Every Other Weekend Required
Holidays Required (Based on Weekend Schedule)
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Respiratory Therapist for an acute care hospital setting in Syracuse New York. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in high-acuity environments providing respiratory care and cardiopulmonary support to critically ill patients.
Responsibilities:
Administer positive pressure and aerosol therapy treatments
Initiate and monitor oxygen therapy for patients
Assist physicians with mechanical ventilation management
Monitor patient respiratory status and response to therapy
Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation as required
Perform pulmonary function testing procedures
Conduct radial arterial punctures and specimen collection
Provide respiratory care to pediatric and adult patients
Maintain accurate patient documentation and treatment records
Operate and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment
Collaborate with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary teams
Respond effectively to emergency respiratory situations
Ensure compliance with respiratory care protocols and safety standards
Perform patient care functions independently with minimal supervision
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of acute care respiratory therapy experience required
Current NYS Respiratory Therapist license/registration required
Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy required
Acute care hospital experience required
Strong respiratory therapy clinical skills required
Ability to work independently in fast-paced hospital environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
English proficiency required
Preferred:
Pediatric respiratory therapy experience
Experience working in high-acuity acute care settings
ACLS preferred
PALS preferred
