Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care services in an acute care hospital environment. The Respiratory Therapist will assess treat monitor and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions while collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. This position may require floating between affiliated hospital locations.
Required Qualifications
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapy License
Current BLS Certification
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English
Minimum one year of critical care experience preferred
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Responsibilities
Assess and treat patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary disorders.
Initiate monitor and manage ventilatory support using lung-protective strategies.
Recommend ventilator settings and assist with weaning protocols.
Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation.
Collect sputum specimens and perform bedside spirometry.
Perform capnography monitoring.
Monitor respiratory status during patient transport.
Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response Team activations.
Assist with conscious sedation procedures and intubations.
Administer oxygen therapy Heliox and high-flow oxygen therapy.
Assist with bronchoscopies in multiple care settings.
Provide respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients.
Assess and maintain tracheostomies laryngectomies and artificial airways.
Perform tracheal endotracheal and nasotracheal suctioning.
Assist with tracheostomy tube changes and airway management.
Administer aerosolized and metered-dose medications.
Manage and troubleshoot non-invasive ventilation equipment.
Participate in multidisciplinary patient care rounds.
Complete accurate EMR documentation and charge reconciliation.
Train and precept respiratory staff and students as assigned.
Maintain respiratory equipment supplies and inventory.
