When indicated wean patients from continuous ventilation according to established and completely document all therapeutic and diagnostic activities and results in the patients medical the appropriateness of the respiratory care ordered and discuss variances with primary physician when an appropriate Respiratory Care plan based upon patient assessment; monitor and identify any problem regarding quality assurance; communicate effectively with all physicians utilizing respiratory care services in clinical in patient rounds in designated clinical area and serve as respiratory care resource person to other members of the health-care team; communicate changes in the respiratory care plan to other healthcare team treatment procedures to patients and/or family members to allay fears and elicit cooperation; ensure patient education regarding the pulmonary in meetings and conferences designed to expedite and improve delivery of respiratory care; participate in clinical in-service education and training concerning respiratory care policies and develop and help implement techniques methodology and treatment modalities related to respiratory care; assist in development of new clinical procedures in designated emergency and acute Respiratory Care procedures in accordance with service policy and procedures responding to all cardiopulmonary arrest and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation and airway care as needed.
