The Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics EEG Technician is responsible for performing electroencephalogram (EEG) procedures across a wide patient age range from neonates to geriatrics. The role involves electrode placement portable recording in critical care units such as NICU PICU and ICU and conducting specialized EEG monitoring including Sleep Deprived EEG Sleep EEG Long Term Monitoring and EMU monitoring. The technician collaborates with clinical teams to ensure accurate data collection and patient care during EEG procedures.
Responsibilities:
Required Skills & Certifications:
Minimum of 1 year EEG technician experience.
Experience with all patient age groups including neonates to geriatrics.
Proficient in electrode placement and portable EEG recording in critical care environments (NICU PICU ICU).
Knowledge and experience with Sleep Deprived EEG Sleep EEG Long Term Monitoring and EMU monitoring.
BLS certification required.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
Experience working in Adult ICU PICU and NICU settings.
Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record system.
Special Considerations:
Return to Office (RTO) after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite.
Any call offs or additional RTO on unit may result in cancellation and Do Not Rebook (DNR) status.
No float requirements.
Specialized procedures include Long Term EEG monitoring with hook ups and take downs.
Scrubs color: teal blue.
Scheduling:
12-hour night shifts.
Typical schedule: Wednesday Thursday Friday one week; Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday the next week.
Manager-determined schedule.
13-week contracts accepted.
Ratio: 4 rooms; Long Term Monitoring involves 9-11 patients per week.
Maximum RTO allowed is 7 days.
