Looking for a hands-on role in healthcare where your work directly supports patient care Join Mercy Hospital Springfield as a Respiratory Equipment Technician and play a vital role in ensuring respiratory equipment and supplies are clean available and ready when patients need them most.

This position is ideal for individuals who are organized detail-oriented team-focused and eager to contribute to a fast-paced healthcare environment. No prior experience is requiredwell provide the training you need to succeed.

Part-Time Varied Day Shifts
Hours: 6:30 AM 4:00 PM

What Youll Do

As a Respiratory Equipment Technician you will support the Respiratory Department by managing equipment supplies inventory and daily operational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean disinfect pasteurize package and distribute respiratory equipment.
  • Stock receive organize and distribute respiratory supplies and medical gases.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory and par management.
  • Perform equipment pickup and delivery throughout the hospital while following infection control guidelines.
  • Assist with ventilator and BiPAP setup and function checks under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance activities with the Biomedical Engineering team.
  • Run daily department reports and maintain accurate records logs and statistics.
  • Support staff supervisors and department leadership with operational and administrative needs.
  • Maintain organized files records and supply inventories.
  • Answer and route phone calls professionally and provide excellent customer service.
  • Train and assist new employees and students when needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve department efficiency and workflow.
  • Follow all safety infection prevention attendance and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills including keyboarding.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
  • 12 years of college coursework.
  • Background or coursework in biological sciences.
  • Previous experience in inventory supply chain healthcare or equipment management (helpful but not required).
