JOB SUMMARY:

Our vision as Chase Oaks Worship is to know Gods transforming presence and to make his presence known. Frist we strive to lead ourselves well and grow in our own faith. Through this process we live out our purpose with what we say and what we do. Its every part of our lives every day. When we get on a stage with an instrument or a band its the culmination and expression of our daily lives lived in worship.

At the end of this residency youll be able to perform the essential job responsibilities listed below. This will give you a base of skills required to lead worship at a church.

This position is 1 year in length from August 1 July 31 working 20 hours/week.

Weekly Hours Breakdown:

8 hours Leading worship

2 hours Personal Development

4 hours Skillset Goal Development

2 hours Unique Development Opportunities

4 hours Meetings/Administrative Tasks (team meetings creative meetings etc.)

In this residency youll have the opportunity to develop in a specialized skill. Below are some potential areas of development:

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tasks

Details

Leading Worship

  1. Lead worship during most of the weekends throughout the year.
  2. Be immersed in our worship culture through interaction with our teams.

Personal Development

  1. Weekly/bi-weekly one on ones with Worship Pastor.
  2. First 90 days will move through our onboarding worship curriculum.
  3. From this curriculum we will establish 90-day goals to challenge you to grow you in specific areas (See skillset goals and unique development opportunities).

Technology/Administration

  1. Planning Center Online
  2. Pro Presenter
  3. Tracks
  4. Building a setlist

Musical Leadership

  1. Lead band rehearsal
  2. Build charts
  3. Lead vocal rehearsal

Congregational Leadership

  1. Leading a weekend service
  2. Leading worship at an outside event
  3. Verbal transitions/public prayer

Team Leadership

  1. Lead band rehearsal and vision for the service program
  2. Auditioning new volunteers



Qualifications

JOB PROFILE:

SPECIFIC SKILLS / STRENGTHS

  • Good vocal ability
  • Ability to lead a band musically
  • Administration skills for Planning Center
  • Good time management
  • High creativity

EXPERIENCE DESIRED

  • 3 years serving on a worship team

EDUCATION DESIRED

  • Some qualification in Music and/or Theology

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • There are no supervisory responsibilities with this role.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Confident with public speaking and verbal communication to groups via microphone
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with congregants volunteers and other worship team musicians
  • Openness to performing worship music in multiple languages (including Mandarin and Spanish); fluency not required
  • Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries regarding Chase Oaks ministries.
  • High attention to customer service.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook calendaring and email.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experienced with data entry.
  • Familiar with databases.
