Purpose/Objective of the Role:
The Residential Life Office Lead is a student leadership position that supports the daily operations of the Residential Life & Dining Services office. The position helps coordinate office schedules communication projects front desk coverage and general administrative responsibilities. This role is intended for a reliable and organized student who can work independently take initiative follow through on assigned tasks and help ensure that office operations remain organized and consistent. Interviews will begin on September 1 hiring decisions will be made by September 9 and the selected candidate will begin work on September 14.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain the Student Office Assistant schedule and help ensure front desk shifts are covered.
- Communicate schedule changes coverage needs reminders and office expectations to Student Office Assistants.
- Assist department staff with organizing daily and weekly tasks tracking projects managing deadlines and addressing recurring office needs.
- Monitor and respond to low-level office emails using approved templates and department guidance.
- Forward or flag emails and concerns that require professional staff review.
- Provide accurate and respectful information to students families visitors and campus partners.
- Serve as a peer resource for Student Office Assistants and help train them on customer service phone etiquette office expectations and common procedures.
- Communicate concerns regarding attendance performance or follow-through to department staff.
- Greet visitors answer phone calls route questions appropriately and provide general front desk assistance.
- Assist with mail keys forms student records signage filing copying and other administrative tasks.
- Help maintain a welcoming organized and professional front office environment.
- Support major departmental processes including housing selection move-in move-out and break housing.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and office records.
- Follow FERPA requirements and department expectations when handling student information.
- Use good judgment and escalate sensitive complex or policy-related concerns to professional staff.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Reliability punctuality and consistent attendance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently.
- Ability to take initiative and identify tasks or concerns that need attention.
- Comfort using email Google Sheets calendars and basic office technology.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn Residential Life & Dining Services processes and policies.
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively with students staff families and campus partners. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate judgment.
