Description

Nemours is seeking a Senior Research Technologist to join our team.

The Senior Research Technologist leads oversees and independently sets up and performs experiments and procedures in support of laboratory goals and grant commitments (e.g. assays cell/tissue culture animal studies equipment planning and ordering etc.). Contributes to the planning design and modification of studies and experiments in the research lab setting. Collects enters summarizes and analyzes experimental data that is used for presentations at local regional national and international meetings as well as manuscripts and grant applications. Monitors results reports unusual outcomes/errors and suggests modifications. Is directly involved in the preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and/or in the preparation of grant applications of interest to the oversee and assist with the training of residents fellows and temporary lab personnel in lab techniques. Performs advanced safety functions in the laboratory. Ensures viability of materials reagents and specimens. Participates and presents at research laboratory meetings.

Essential Functions:

  1. Lead oversee and independently set up and perform experiments and procedures in support of lab goals and grant commitments. Builds and fosters professional relationships including other departments enterprise wide.
  2. Define procedures set priorities manage resources prudently and maintain the highest possible standards for work quality. Is organized and has a high attention to detail.
  3. Schedule time efficiently ability to set and meet deadlines and ability to maintain multiple open projects.
  4. Thinks pro-actively and provides clear verbal and written instruction to lab staff and PI.
  5. Understand and demonstrates safe use and operation of lab equipment.
  6. Understand and is knowledgeable of Nemours safety policies procedures and performs more advanced safety functions in the lab.
  7. Engage in and actively follows the five Nemours Associate Core Competencies Cultural Stewardship; Relationship Management; Commitment to Improvement and Quality; Effective Communication and Champions Change.
  8. Complete annual Nemours mandatory training as assigned.
  9. Perform additional miscellaneous lab duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by associates supervisor.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science required; Master of Science preferred

Minimum of 5 years of significant laboratory experience required
