Job Summary
Summer: Drives research projects scientifically and determines the course of research as evidenced by leadership obtaining funding writing or other recognition. May not necessarily receive independent resources; however their contribution is essential to the conceptual/scientific success of the project.oDesign and perform genetic association analysis.
oDesign plan and execute cell-based biochemical and in vivo experiments necessary to validate target genes for therapeutic discovery.
oMaintain cell lines and isolate primary cells for use in cell-based assays.
oWork with informatics and computational scientists to integrate and interpret screening and functional genomic data sets.
oPerform detailed characterization and cellular mechanism of action studies of chemically optimized compounds.
oPerform mouse genetic linkage analysis to define genes affecting genome instability
oWork with team to design and execute research plans to ensure that critical project requirements timelines and deliverables are met.
oTroubleshoot and solve scientific problems independently.
oIdentify investigate and implement new technologies based on scientific needs.
oEffectively present results in cross-functional project teams.
oDesign execute and interpret research experiments.
oTrain investigators in techniques relating to small animal surgery molecular biology and vector construction.
oInvestigates creates and develops new methods and technologies for research advancements
oAssist in laboratory management.
oContribute to scientific literature and present research at scientific forums
