The Opportunity
Are you passionate about building secure reliable and responsible AI systems We are seeking a talented and driven Research Fellow (Level A) to join our dynamic team and make high-impact contributions to the critical fields of Trustworthy AI and Cybersecurity.
In this research-focussed role you will lead and contribute to cutting-edge projects focused on evaluating building and deploying secure software systems powered by AI. Working closely alongside a collaborative research team and top-tier academics you will publish in premier international venues translate research into real-world impact and help shape competitive funding proposals.
This position offers an exceptional launching pad to accelerate your academic career build leadership through student co-supervision and expand your research network.
Key Responsibilities
Drive High-Impact Research: Design and execute experimental and empirical research publishing top-tier papers in leading conferences and journals.
Advance Secure AI Systems: Investigate safety privacy-preserving technologies adversarial machine learning explainable AI or secure software engineering.
Collaborate and Translate: Work within a supportive team present findings at national and international conferences and translate research into practical outcomes.
Mentorship and Growth: Assist in co-supervising research students and contribute to competitive research grant proposals.
Academic Engagement: Participate in departmental workshops research committees and occasional research-aligned teaching development activities.
What Were Looking For
Qualifications
A PhD in Computer Science Information Technology or a closely related field (or near completion).
Knowledge and Skills
Specialised Research Focus: Proven expertise in trustworthy AI or cybersecurity such as AI safety adversarial machine learning privacy preservation explainable/responsible AI or software security.
Strong Publication Track Record: Demonstrated experience writing and publishing high-quality peer-reviewed research papers.
Technical Proficiency: Ability to design computational/experimental frameworks with strong hands-on programming skills and research tool proficiency.
Problem-Solving and Innovation: Strong diagnostic skills with a knack for tackling complex technical challenges independently and creatively.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative mindset and collegiate working style.
