Description

The Retinal Regenerative Medicine Laboratory at Mayo Clinic in the Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to assist in development of a novel approach to retinal gene therapy incorporating fibrin-hydrogel encapsulated AAV vectors.

In this role the candidate will be part of a team lead by Drs. Alan Marmorstein and Brittni Scruggs that is focused on translation to the clinic of a novel approach to retinal gene therapy incorporating fibrin-hydrogel encapsulated AAV vectors with the goal of submitting an IND application.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team dedicated to GMP process development for manufacture storage / stability testing and shipping of fibrin-encapsulated AAV. This involves design testing and qualification of hydrogel formulation in-process testing and release assays in vivo testing as well as preparation of regulatory filings and technology transfer to external CROs/CDMOs.



Qualifications

Qualified candidates should hold a MD/PhD or PhD in a biological science and have excellent record keeping manuscript writing presentation and scientific communication skills. Experience with cell culture cell-based assays hydrogels immunofluorescence gene therapy and molecular biology is a plus. Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience in ophthalmic.
