POSITION SPECIFICS

The Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Health and Human Development is seeking a Research Data Management Specialist. This position will work as part of a pediatric nutrition research laboratory to develop and implement a data pipeline and to prepare multiple types of data collected as part of a Federally funded study for hosting in public websites.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop data processing manuals that detail instructions for cleaning storing deidentifying and analyzing clinical behavioral cognitive genetic neuroimaging and observational (video) data.
  • Clean identify and prepare laboratory data for sharing with collaborators.
  • Work with Principal Investigator to ensure that data practices are compliant with Federal guidelines
  • Prepare data processing manuals data collection instruments and scoring protocols for hosting on public websites.
  • Work with Principal Investigator and members of the team to advise on data analysis processes using R Python Matlab or other programs
  • Prepare written reports of data analyses for contributions to publications
  • Conduct training sessions with staff and students on best practices in data analysis and stewardship

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The successful candidate should be fluent in various computing and statistical packages especially R and python.
  • Experience working with neuroimaging data preferred but not required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree 1 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

LOCATION

The position is based at the University Park Campus in State College PA; however flexible work arrangements such as remote or hybrid work opportunities may be considered.

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

The salary range for this position including all possible grades is $54060.00 - $78444.00.
