Position Summary:

In this role you willexecute analytical methods and manage analytical datato advance thegene therapy developmentfor ultra-rare diseases. This position is a hands-on laboratory-based role that willbe responsible formaintainingdata visualization tools and information workflows to support Analytical Developmentas well asoperatingseveralautomated/semi-automated analytical methods.Reporting to the Analytical Development automation team leader the successful applicant will work closely withother scientists and research associates inthe group and should be comfortable aroundautomation lab and molecular biology lab environments.The applicant should also be comfortable collaborating withITand Records Management Teams to streamline data workflows used to support Analytical Development.We are looking for someone who is flexible can work well independently and can respond quickly energetically and enthusiastically to change and challenge.

Work Model:

Core Lab & Ops: This role typically requires that the majority of the work be conducted on-site.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design and execute experiments for high-throughputgenome titertesting(such as qPCR anddPCR) manuallyorbyutilizinga range of automation equipment(Echo liquid handlerintegratedworkcells Hamilton liquid handlers).
  2. Generatemaintaindocumentand summarize analytical results in a highly organized manner.
  3. Assistassay troubleshooting with supervision.
  4. Present results of experimentation in internal meetings and draft method development report.
  5. Participate in therequirementbuilding configuration testing implementation anddeployment of laboratory data automationand/or data visualizationsolutions.
  6. Developdocumentand deploy standard operating procedures (SOPs) that can bereferenced by end users for technicalassistanceand during training.
  7. Assistother analytical lab activities such as sample handling machine and reagent maintenance as needed.
Requirements:
  1. The ideal candidates shouldpossessbiologicallab skills with strong data analysis ability in one of the following tools: Exceldata visualization tools like Power BI/Tableau or havea strong desireand ability to learn these tools with minimal guidance.
  2. Hands-on experience in operating molecular methods especially PCR-based methods.
  3. Proficient skills in technical writing and communication withtheability to execute and complete relevant documentation.
  4. Strong motivation and excellent organizational skills with the ability tomultitaskin a fast-paced environment.
  5. Strong collaboration skills to work in the lab as a team member.
  6. Master of science in Biology bioengineering or bioinformatics/data sciencewith 0-2 years of related experience or BS with 2-4 years of related experience.

Physical Demand Requirements:

Lab:

  • Stand for extended periods of time with periodic stooping / bending / kneeling
  • Able to lift push pull up to 50lbs.
  • Climb ladders and stairs of various heights.
  • Work in a lab environment requiring special protective clothing over the head face hands feet and body. This role requires the ability to wear personal protective equipment.
  • Certain tasks may require use of a respirator; medical clearance will be required in advance.

The typical annual salary range for this full-time position is listed below. This range reflects the characteristics of the job such as required skills and qualifications and is based on the office location noted in this job posting. The range may also be adjusted based on applicants geographic location.


This position is eligible for annual bonus and equity incentives. Actual individual pay is determined by demonstrated experience and internal equity alignment.

$82100 - $101400 USD
