Research Associate I II Mucke Lab

The Mucke Laboratory at the Gladstone Institute of Neurological Disease is looking for a dedicated Research Associate I/II who is eager to actively contribute to unraveling the mechanisms of major brain disorders and to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for these challenging conditions.

Job duties may include:

• Maintenance of a complex colony of genetically engineered mouse models

• includingacquisition breeding genotyping and distribution of mice and computerized record-keeping

• Small rodent surgeries including stereotactic injections and electrode implantations

• Preparation and maintenance of primary cell cultures

• Molecular biology techniques including cloning protein assays gel electrophoresis western blotting and RT-qPCR

• Histology and light microscopy techniques including fixation and sectioning of tissues immunostaining and image processing

Qualifications:

• A BS/BA in neuroscience biology or a related field.

• 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.

• Candidates should excel in work ethic organizational and interpersonal skills accuracy attention to details and ability to multitask

Requires bending squatting climbing stairs; pushing/pulling up to 25 pounds; reaching above shoulder level; sitting standing walking; carrying/lifting 20-25 pounds; repetitive movements of upper and lower extremities; may be exposed to chemical agents.

Salary Range:

RA I- $28.35/hr. ($58968) - $32.67/hr. ($67949)

RA II- $70304-$82711
