Research Assistant – Schiffner Lab

The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Research Assistant to join the laboratory of Dr. Torben Schiffner. The Schiffner lab focuses on developing advanced vaccines that induce broadly neutralizing antibodies against highly diverse pathogens combining AI/machine-learning-assisted computational protein design with deep analysis of antibody responses in vivo to iteratively optimize next-generation immunogens.A Bachelors degree in a science-related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) is required. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory procedures excellent technical skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Experience in the following areas is preferred:protein expression in mammalian cells protein purification biophysical characterization (SDS-PAGE surface plasmon resonance biolayer interferometry SEC-MALS).
