Job Summary

Reporting Developer I - Power BI Developerin GAC Savannah

Unique Skills:

Position is on-site only and offers an optional 9/80 schedule (9hr days with every other Friday off).

Required Skills

Experience building basic Power BI (or similar application) reports and dashboards using existing datasets
Familiarity with Power BI Desktop including:
- Creating visuals
- Applying filters and slicers
- Basic report formatting and layout
Introductory knowledge of DAX such as:
- Simple measures (SUM COUNT AVERAGE)
- Basic calculated columns
Experience using Power Query for:
- Basic data cleansing
- Simple transformations (filtering rows renaming fields changing data types)
Basic understanding of relational data concepts including tables joins and primary keys
Experience writing basic SQL queries (SELECT WHERE JOIN GROUP BY) against SQL Server or Oracle
Ability to validate report results against source data with guidance
Experience creating charts and summaries using Excel and PowerPoint or similar applications
Ability to follow established documentation standards and development processes
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new tools and concepts

Preferred Skills

Introductory exposure to Microsoft Fabric concepts (e.g. awareness of Lakehouse or semantic models)
Microsoft Power BI certification (PL300 or similar) or progress toward certification
Familiarity with publishing reports to the Power BI Service
Experience applying basic rowlevel security (RLS) with guidance
Exposure to working in an Agile or team-based development environment
Experience enhancing or maintaining existing reports rather than designing new models

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Information Technology Computer Science Engineering or relevant curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Masters Degree may be used to offset one (1) year of experience; PhD may offset two (2) years of experience.

Position Purpose:

This is a data and analytics development role within the Gulfstream Business Technology organization for the Enterprise Reporting team. This role directly supports the suite of Gulfstream Enterprise Reporting applications. Responsible for developing requirements solution development testing deployment and support of enterprise reporting solutions.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

Engages stakeholders and technology users in identifying analyzing and documenting business requirements.

Assists with defining test conditions and comprehensive test plans.

Ensures applications processes are followed consistently and are in compliance with applicable policies procedures standards etc.

Under general supervision prepares requirements specifications and business process maps.

Documents develops tests deploys and supports reporting and data analytics development using a variety of technical tools in support of business requirements.

Additional Functions:

Participates in design reviews for implementation projects. .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

Demonstrated capability to understand data structures and create effective visualizations and reports that drive business insight and value.

A credit history check from a national credit bureau will be conducted for all candidates for this position including new hires and current employees seeking promotion or job requires one to be able to read write speak and understand the English language.
