Repair Planner (Collision Estimator)

Manahawkin New Jersey

A busy collision center in Manahawkin NJ is hiring a Repair Planner. This is not a front-end sales estimator seat. After the estimate is written and locked you own the repair through supplements insurance negotiation and a clean customer experience.

What youll do

Tear down vehicles and write accurate supplements after the estimate is locked

Negotiate with insurance companies and get supplements approved and paid

Serve as the liaison between insurance and the customer keep both informed and satisfied through the repair

Follow correct OEM and repair procedures on every job

Provide light people leadership with technicians (coordinate work; you are not running the shop)

What you bring

Hands-on estimating experience (required)

Comfort negotiating with insurance carriers

Strong communication with customers and insurance adjusters

Working knowledge of OEM / correct repair procedures

About 5 years of relevant collision experience preferred

Ability to work alongside technicians without owning full shop management

About the shop

Roughly 100 cars per month

DRPs are in place; prior DRP-specific experience is not required

Full-time role in Manahawkin New Jersey

Compensation

$1000 per week salary plus 2% of sale (top-line sales not including tax)

Path to around $100000 depending on sales volume

Example: about $90000 on roughly $150000 in sales with two technicians; strong producers drive toward $200000 in sales

Open-ended earnings the more you sell the more you make

Required Skills:

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience in auto body repair with an emphasis on structural repairs. Knowledge of welding techniques and use of specialized tools and equipment. Experience in frame and suspension alignment. Ability to read and interpret repair orders and technical manuals. Attention to detail and quality workmanship. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well in a team environment. Relevant certification(s) such as ASE Structural Technician or I-CAR Gold Class certification is preferred. Experience utilizing Car-O-Liner Chief Genesis or Celette highly preferred Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend stoop and reach overhead. We are seeking candidates for this position who meet specific qualifications. A valid drivers license is a mandatory requirement and successful candidates must also pass a mandatory drug test. Additionally a clean driving record is essential for consideration.
