Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a solid maintenance and reliability background to support improving James Hardies production results. The person in this role willbe responsible forsupporting reliability improvements across ourFiber CementUS locations with a special focus on Precision Maintenance.
The Reliability Engineer will report to theDirector of HMOS-Equipment would be that the successful candidate for the position will primarilylocatedatone of our western plants. Estimated amount of travel for this position is 50% per month.
What Youll Do:
- Provide technical expertise to sites with field application of precision maintenance techniques.
- Provide training field coaching and mentoring of maintenance supervisors and craftsmen.
- Deliver a strategic reliability-centered maintenance approach to optimizing asset life and productivity through documented asset strategies.
- Reliability support for Post-Autoclave Process with Line Maintenance systems.
- Develop plan to alleviate long term production challenges of our existing Finishing Lines to meet the needs of increased capacity on our sheet machines.
- Partner and coordinate with Primary Equipment Supplier and Plant Personnel on equipment selection and continuous improvement of our processes.
- Develop maintenance PM requirements through analysis of delay data.
- Conduct criticality assessment on equipment and process lines and develop lubrication strategy.
- Develop and implement best practices for assets to improve the mean time between failures (MTBF).
- Utilize Root Cause Analysis processes to review significant failures identify corrective action to prevent re-occurrence and refine asset strategy to sustain improvement.
- Mine data to identify reliability improvement opportunities and develop corrective actions focused on delivering Net Hours improvement and cost reduction.
- Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations.
- These problems include capacity quality cost or regulatory compliance issues.
- Identifies deficiencies in maintenance processes and develop sustainable improvements.
- Provide reliability technical support to Production Maintenance Engineering and Procurement activities
What Youll Bring:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering required (mechanical preferred)
- 7 or more years of experience with industrial manufacturing processes
- 7 or more years of Maintenance and Reliability Project Management
- Experience with Material Handling Equipment (pumps stackers forklifts)
- Ability to utilize Microsoft project and other project management tools.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong technical expertise in applying Precision Maintenance techniques in industrial manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of Precision Maintenance procedures. Knowledge of equipment design and failure modes.
- Experience with interpreting forensic evidence to identify failure modes.
- Facilitation experience with Root Cause Analysis- troubleshooting to drive reliabililty.
- Strong communication (written oral and interpersonal) skills.
- Ability to lead and be part of cross functional teams.
- Experience with computer maintenance management systems (CMMS) INFOR BE or equivalent.
- Advanced skills in basic personal computer software (Microsoft applications).
- Previous experience in the development of a manufacturing reliability program is a plus but not a requirement.
- Reliability certifications a plus
- TPM a plus
What Youll Receive:
As of the date of this posting a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $125k to $145k. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience skills geography and internal equity and may change over time. This position qualifies for benefits and you will be eligible to participate in a bonus plan.
