Central Louisiana State Hospital located in Pineville Louisiana is seeking applicants for a vacant position in our Activity Therapy Department as a Rehabilitation Program Specialist who coordinates and controls a specific component of a major rehabilitation program.

The Rehabilitation Program Specialist plays a vital role for the Louisiana Department of Health in the Behavioral Health community by utilizing CLSHs values and mission to deliver quality and effective care to our patients. The hospital is highly committed to cooperative work with other state agencies and with the state and regional mental health program to insure the integration and coordination of hospital-community services into a comprehensive system of mental health care.

Job Duties:

• Plancoordinateand implementactivities oftheWork Therapy Program for adultchronicpsychiatricpatients at onsitelocationsas partof theActivity TherapyDayProgram.
• Develop and implementprocedures for specificcomponentsofthe Work Therapy Program to includejobdescriptionsjob taskanalysistime andmotion studies for theevaluationofpatientswhileperforming jobs.
• Performneeds assessmentsof patients andmakejobadjustmentsaccordingly.
• Coordinate with Louisiana Vocational Rehabilitation to provide mandatory career counseling and information about training opportunities to workers paid subminimum wages per the Fair Labor Standards Act.
• Participateinthe reviewandrevisionof hospital policies andproceduresinrelation tospecial wage andlaborlawstoensurecompliancewithchangesinfederalstateandlocal lawsandregulations.
• Evaluate patient progress and writeprogressnotesin themedical record accordingto departmentandmedical recordguidelines; complete summariesofpatientsprogressfortreatmentplanupdates.
• Assistinprovidinga variety ofactivitiesbothon and offgroundswith groups of adultpsychiatricpatientsdesignedto assistpatients in exploring and developingleisureinterests andskills.

Appointment Type: Probational Promotional Demotion or Transfer

Compensation: This position has a Minimum Hire Rate of $24.57 hourly ($1965.60 bi-weekly)

Schedule: M-F; 8:00am 4:30pm
