The District is a government agency whose mission is to protect water resources minimize flood risks and ensure the publics water needs are met. We serve a population of nearly 6million people in west-central Florida as directed by state law.

Gain valuable hands-on experience assisting our Regulatory Business Development section by analyzing trends of the Regulation ePermitting system data and workflows.In joining our team youll play an important role in enhancing the results to ensure a brighter future for the environment of Florida. The District offers the Student Internship Program to provide students with real work experience and specific hands-on knowledge related to the chosen course of study.

This internship opportunity is not eligible for remote work all work will be conducted at the District Brooksville FL office.

Compensation: $14.00 per hour
Essential Functions
  • Collect organize and analyze operational data to identify trends gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist data analysts with reports dashboards data validation and performance metric tracking.
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests and translate findings and user feedback into actionable insights.
  • Provide ePermitting Help Desk support including responding to inquiries basic technical assistance and system navigation.
  • Document user issues and feedback to identify recurring trends and process improvement opportunities.

Working Conditions
Most work is conducted in a standard office environment. This position requires the ability to perform continuous repetitive tasks (to include keyboarding) with one or both hands. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Must be able to operate a District vehicle for two hours or more at a time. Required Credentials for Regulatory Support Intern
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college university or other recognized educational or vocational program
  • Maintain a minimum GPAof 2.5 for undergraduate students or minimum GPA of 3.0 for graduate students
  • Valid drivers license

Application Process

The District will determine eligibility for employment solely from the information provided on a District employment application. All applicants are required to complete in full a District employment application. Any application that is not complete will not receive consideration for the position. If selected candidate is not allowed to start until all minimum qualifications are met.

Additional Details

This position is typically scheduled to work no more than 25 hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM out of the Brooksville FL office. Student Internship positions are not eligible for insured medical benefits.

Travel Required

travel using District vehicle within Districts coverage area.
