SentaraNorfolk General Hospital located in Norfolk Virginia is hiring a Registered Nurse Supervisor for the General Intensive Care Unit - GICU.

Hours: 40 (hours per week)

Overview:

The Supervisor Nursing and Patient Care Services in a hospital setting plays a key leadership role in the nursing department supporting the manager in overseeing all patient care activity on their assigned nursing unit(s). They are responsible for ensuring high standards of care coordinating daily nursing activities and facilitating communication between medical teams. Assists with the training mentoring and performance evaluations of clinical staff. They also manage patient care assignments help resolve patient and family concerns and ensure compliance with hospital policies protocols and safety regulations. Additionally they assist in staffing decisions maintain inventory for medical supplies and ensure that the unit is properly equipped to provide quality care.


DepartmentOverview:
We are currently seeking Registered Nurses for our Beacon Award winning 16 bed General Intensive Care Unit. The most common diagnosis on this unit are myocardial infarctions life-threatening dysrhythmias cardiac post-procedures gastrointestinal bleeds acute respiratory distress vascular surgeries and general surgeries with complications.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (Required) or MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

  • Registered nursing License (Required)

  • BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant nursing experience and 1 year nursing leadership experience
