Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center; named for two Medal of Honor recipients Colonel Van Barfoot and Colonel Carl Sitter provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginias Veterans. This single-level facility features 200 single-occupancy rooms across four nursing units.

Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is recruiting for a wage RN Floor Nurse with Charge Nurse responsibilities for the following shifts:

  • 7AM - 330PM every weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
  • 3PM - 1130PM every weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
  • 3PM - 1130PM every Tuesday & Thursday

Part-time wage employees are not eligible for benefits and hours are limited to 1500 hours per year (May 1 April 30).

Job Duties Include

  • Formulates plan of care for new residents.
  • Prepares all required reports and documentation.
  • Consults with Nursing Supervisor/Unit Manager as needed.
  • Maintains equipment supplies and materials necessary for nursing care.
  • Administers medications and treatment accurately for assigned residents.
  • Documents residents health changes via acute care nurses notes and shift change nursing reports.
  • Consults with physicians; receiving recording and implementing orders and scheduling appointments.
  • Completes daily rounds; observes and evaluates the physical and emotional status of assigned residents and taking necessary actions to ensure their health and well-being.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia.

Additional Considerations

  • Nursing experience in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting

  • Supervision experience
